User Demographics and observations:
Previous calendly user
Attempting to build a startup
2 meetings per day
Availability is dynamic and changes weekly
Meetings are for internal meetings and one-on-one mentoring classes
Results and conclusions :
Most users require only 1 meeting link
As a calendly user, they expect things to work like calendly. And if it does not, it may lead to confusion, and they will switch back, since Calendly already solves what they need.
-
After setting their availability the user on clicking the meeting link, saw the right of the meeting page, and was confused why the availability did not change.
They tried clicking the right side booking preview as well.
As a previous Calendly user, they had set the meeting settings in the What tab, clicked Save and thought the job was done. Instead of navigating to the where tab.
Selecting availability was difficult to find, as they did not expect it to be under the host tab
-
To select an availability for a week. They had set the availability, and manually marked each day as unavailable which did not fall in that week.
probably because they did not go the where tab to search for date range, instead expected it to be in availability.
Solution : Under the availability we can show to set a date range, go to the meeting link.
UI wise seeing meetings as cards rather than table rows felt more pleasing.
-
On clicking the availability working hours within meeting link, nothing happend. This means that it's not very evident that the availability on the right side is what is being clicked. Especially if only 1 availability is there, which is 99% of the cases.
solution : we can have the availability reload or appear as a side pane and keep the preview on the right side
Meeting date range validation error appears, but show go on outside click, sometimes the save option will not be there if the state is the same, but still the error is shown - issue
theme randomly changing is still happening while booking
Live on-boarding on 28th December :
Users requested to have a video walking through some of the basic features of NeetoCal.
The concept of meeting link, how the video too link comes up, how does a booking me made, is not very clear to first time users.
In India, most small business owners or start up founders use Calendly. And they only require the most basic of functionality such as booking a time. So the need for switching may not be worth it for those users.
For users that provide services it may be useful. But most of the services in India involve group or collective sessions such as webinars, for which we do not have the functionality for.
